Play DVD .iso images locally

There are two nice free tools to use to watch movies on your computer.  The first is a DVD/CD software emulator called Daemon Tools (lite version is free).  The second is a very good open source video viewer.  It’s called Media Player Classic.  It is CHOCK FULL of features.

Using these two tools, I can rip an .iso and watch the images on my computer (I don’t know of any way to play them directly in MPC).

Just recently I found also that MPC will play standalone .swf (or shockwave flash) movies, so that’s a real bonus as I am starting to get more of these…

MPC is also great for simply viewing DVD’s, and I haven’t found any problems with it rendering any of the movies I have watched…
