I watched Disc1 (all my local shop currently has), and this is a bit of a departure from my classical understanding of the normal serialized anime. The first set of episodes, end with the death of the main character (drats, I gave it away), however in the last episode on Disc1, he is back with all the other dead folks, in what seems to be more a series of vignettes for this anime.
Its pretty gory, and a bit "off" if you know what I mean. But I like it, and would like watch more episodes, though its not my favorite series by far.
