Some VERY nice Garnets from Ely Nevada. These Garnets are a deep translucent red about the color of a good Cabernet. They are however, very difficult to photograph so that you can see the translucence though I have tried to represent them as best I could. This collection area is in BLM land with a very nice covered picnic table and maintained toilets. These garnets represent about 4 hours worth of collecting. This is one of my favorite spots, and one which we will likely be visiting again soon!
