Using OziUL

Ok, so when I don’t use it I forget how to, and this page is a simple “How to” about how to use OziUL with OziExplorer…

First, launch OziExplorer, select a map for the area where you want to see mines data.

Then launch OziUL, and point it to your csv file of the mines data, making sure to select “Load New Data file”.

If this is the first time it has been run, we need to create the pnt file for OziUL to use to “hear” the mine point we want data on.

In OziUL, select File->Save mine data as Ozi pnt file, and save in the Data directory.

In OziExplorer, select LOAD->Load Points from File->Load Points from File(Multi), and select the file you just created.

Now OziExplorer should be covered with points like so:

To see the information in OziUL, the point file that’s loaded needs to match the mrds csv file that is load into OziUL.  Then just double click on the point in OziExplorer and this dialog box will ‘appear’.

One note, is that I think OziUL expects that the OziExplorer executable (.exe) is named OziExp.exe, so if you are running a beta version which is not named OziExp.exe, then OziUL won’t work with the binary.

Update from Uwe, OziUL reads the location of OziExplorer’s executable from the windows registry.  I think the solution for renaming the binaries will still work as long as the path has not changed.

The simple solution is to just rename the General Release binary to OziExp.org.exe and rename the beta one to OziExp.exe.
